Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering was established in 2054 in Pashchimanchal Campus, Pokhara-16, Lamachaur with an aim of producing qualified electronics overseers who can serve at different private and government organizations. The Intermediate in Engineering (IE) program was a 3-years program with an intake of 48 seats all being subsidized. Later on IE in computer engineering was introduced to meet the requirement of computer overseer manpower deficit in different organizations.
Electronics, Communication and Information Engineering:
With the enhancement in academic manpower and technical infrastructure, the Bachelor degree program was introduced in 2062 with an intake of 48 students (12 = Regular; 36 = Full Fee) . This course was a four-year program comprising of eight semesters where more than 50 different courses were offered which comprised of both core and elective courses. The course is split into Lecture, Laboratory works and tutorial sessions. Nevertheless, field visits are also emphasized wherever necessary. The department is focused in development of student knowledge from every sphere. Seminars, workshops, guest lectures from experts are often scheduled besides regular classes to enhance the knowledge of students. Based on the curriculum developed by the Institute of Engineering (IOE), academic activities are conducted.
Exams are conducted according to the academic calendar prepared by the governing body. The course has been upgraded and it is renowned as Electronics Communication and Information Engineering. The motto behind upgradation is to offer two main branches:
- Electronics and Communication Engineering
- Information Technology
